Composition

• Two solo works from any musical styles that best represent one’s capabilities, both musically and technically. One of the works can be an original composition. Memorization is optional.

Graduate Requirements

All repertoire should represent a level of difficulty appropriate for a senior recital for the piano performance major.

• A memorized solo piano sonata from any music style period
• Two additional memorized solo piano works from the standard classical repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, and Contemporary periods) but differing from the period of the solo sonata above
• All parallel motion major, harmonic minor, and melodic minor scales in four octaves
• Sight-reading
