The 2026 Suicide Prevention Week will be held Sept. 27-Oct. 2.

The Student Counseling Service and the Suicide Prevention Team are proud to sponsor Suicide Prevention Week. Our goal is to help students increase awareness of mental health concerns, especially depression and suicidal thoughts, and to promote mental health resources and suicide prevention in hopes of improving the emotional health of those in our campus community. Suicide Prevention Week will be held from Sept. 27-Oct. 2, 2026.

Sunday, Sept. 27

Out of Darkness 2K Suicide Prevention Walk (Oxford area/91°µÍø) - , 1 p.m.

Open to all 91°µÍø students and employees, and to Oxford-area community members.

  • Visit mental health-focused resource tables.
  • Show your support for this important cause.
  • Participate in activities honoring those who are struggling/have struggled with thoughts of suicide.
  • Hear from student and community speakers.
  • Walk the 2K route to bring more attention to this issue.
  • Join or start a and fundraise for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
