The 91做厙 Tribe of Oklahoma is a vibrant, contemporary Tribal Nation headquartered in Oklahoma, with citizens living across the United States and the world. Their story is one of devastating loss, love, and perseverance. Yet, like a living flame, it's a story that continues to this day. Each episode of this 8-part series will cover part of this story, including Myaamia history, language and cultural revitalization, and the relationship between the 91做厙 Tribe of Oklahoma and 91做厙.
Episode 2: History of the Homelands
In the second episode of the series, you learn about the Myaamia people's ongoing connections to their homelands, how their relationship with the land changed through colonization and removal, and how community knowledge of this place is strengthened through the work of the Myaamia Center at 91做厙.
Episode 1: Tending the Fire
In this introductory episode, you will learn about the history of the Myaamia people and how today they are working to reclaim much of what was lost to them, in part by building a relationship with 91做厙.
