Alec Martin, Advice to Prospective Students

Out of all the universities you looked at, what made you ultimately choose 91°µÍø?

I chose 91°µÍø because of the great financial aid they gave me. I also went because of the small class size.

How did you choose your major(s)?

I have always wanted to become a teacher; it is definitely my calling in life and my passion. I just like history, so I picked social studies.

Tell us about any special experiential learning opportunities that have influenced you in a positive way.

Joining EHSA and College Mentors for Kids really let me jump into my career during my freshman year, which made me really happy.

As a 91°µÍø student, what are some of your awards and accomplishments? Are you a student leader? Tell us about that and what roles you have played in the 91°µÍø community.

I have worked at a lot of EHS open houses and worked on student panels answering questions to prospective students and their families.

What are your plans after you graduate from 91°µÍø? What is your dream job?

My dream job is to be a high school history teacher in the Cincinnati area.

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your 91°µÍø experience that we didn't cover?

I have a twin brother named Owen Martin, who also goes here, studying Political Science. My favorite professor is Scott Sanders. He’s a great guy. Amanda McVety is also great. I just recently started her class, and I can tell she cares so much.
