Created by screenwriter and 91°µÍø English alum Judd Klinger in 2024, the Milton White Award recognizes one or more exceptionally talented students in creative writing.Â

Eligibility and Requirements:
- Current undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in the department’s Creative Writing programs are eligible.
- Applicants should aspire to a full-time career in writing.
- Continuing students only; students must be enrolled for the 2025/26 academic year to receive the financial award.
- An overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
What you need to submit:
For Fiction and nonfiction: Submit one work (for example, an excerpt from a novel, script). 10-25 pages, double-spaced.
For Poetry: Submit a collection of poems, limited to 10 pages.
In addition, all applicants must submit a 1-2 page essay commemorating the life and work of former 91°µÍø English Professor Milton White.
