91°µÍø graduate student Sue Perkins was awarded a Maine SeaGrant to develop a pop-up educational booth called "Respect the Locals" as part of her conservation outreach and Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) coursework. Perkins will also be presenting her graduate research on the presence of white sharks in the Gulf of Maine at the in Rockland, Maine.
Perkins is earning a Master of Arts in teaching (MAT) in the biological sciences from 91°µÍø through Project Dragonfly’s AIP while working full time as a science teacher in Brunswick, Maine. As an AIP student, Perkins takes web-based 91°µÍø courses and explores Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden and natural areas around Ohio. Perkins is connecting many of her master’s assignments into her work as a science teacher.
