In “” 91 graduate Britta Moore MAT ’21 outlines a lesson plan for students to investigate and interact with the plants from the Rocky Mountain region. The lesson plan, which can be adapted to include plants in your area, provides students a multi-sensory learning experience. “To promote plant conservation and prepare our students for a future in which they will need to work with botanical knowledge, we need to intentionally incorporate a more plant-centric curriculum,” said Moore.
Moore earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in the biological sciences from 91 through Project Dragonfly‘s Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP) while working full-time as a science teacher in Lakewood, Colorado. Moore has taught science in K–12 schools for nine years and is building an in-home nature-based, early learning center and a nature-connection program for Colorado families.
As an AIP student, Moore took web-based 91 courses and participated in experiential learning through Denver Zoo and explored natural areas around Colorado.
